History

OUR TECHNICOVER STORY

"Our story began over 35 years ago."

The Walker Group acquired the

business & staff early 1991.

1992

Full production started, at our Stratford road, Roade site, just outside Northampton.

Due to new customers & demand, our material useage increased to orders of 6000M every 3-4 months.

A huge contract with the UK's M.O.D started late 1993, which was successfully held for over 12 years.

1996

CAD drawings started replacing hand-drawn manufacturing drawings, using AutoCad.

Successfully started designing and manufacturing drop-over transportation covers for General Electric.

2003

Moved from Roade site in late 2004, to Brackmills Ind Est, Northampton.

2008

Moved to a larger warehouse and current site, 34 Liliput Road, Brackmills Ind Est, Northampton.

2015

Early 2016, a new Technicover management system was created & brought in.

2018

A brand new PFAFF heat welding machine was added, joining the 3 existing machines currently in full production use. 

Brand new Technicover website is launched, furthering our global reach, reputation and network.

1991

The manufacturing department for The Walker Group, started in 1992.

The name Technicover, was registered soon after in spring 1992, helping establish a trade brand.

Early production included foil bags for Rolls-Royce.

1993

Due to increased demand, the adjoining warehouse was acquired for Technicover.

The department was awarded the full Rolls-Royce contract for Rolls-Royce civil engine protection.

1999

Started manufacturing emergency and medical tents for the NHS.

2004

Started supplying a yearly order for Protection pads and bags for Northampton Saints Rugby Club.

2012

Due to company investment and volume of demand, the Technicover manufacturing team expanded, doubling in size.

2016

A brand new state of the art cutting machine table was bought and put into full production.

2019
